Blue Eyed Kole Tang ?

I am looking for information on a Blue Eyed Kole Tang ,can't seem to find any info on them ?

I have only seen Kole Tangs with yellow eyes. Have you seen this fish?

I looked a little more and it would be my guess that there is no such thing. One defining characteristic of the Kole is yellow eyes. There are 5 other species in the same genus as the Kole. Without the picture I would guess that it is either a juvenile Ctenochaetus binotatus, if the tail is yellow, or more likely Ctenochaetus striatus. The Kole is Ctenochaetus strigosus.

I would guess it is leaving the juvenile stage.

Interesting to see this thread, I just got one of these guys last night. They had him listed a blue-eyed Tang, I was told he is just like a Kole but with blue eyes. He's only 2" right now...I do have a 120 in the works.

Unless there is a new cross breed, it is the same genus, but a different species from the Kole, though I have found references here that stores do sell as blue eyed Kole. I believe this to be incorrect, though they still are related.

You will like it ,it dosent stop cleaning the rock off !It eats the small patches of hair algae and the ditris on the rock and even picks up the stuff on the sand !

I think another name for them is the Two Spot Bristletooth Tang (Ctenochaetus binotatus)

This isn't the best picture but you get the idea. I noticed he has a strange white spot on his head which wasn't there when I bought him. Hopefully it's just because he is still a little stressed out getting used to his new home. But he is out and about picking at the rocks. Cute little fella.

my vote would be Two Spot Bristletooth Tang (Ctenochaetus binotatus)

"Kole" is used in the trade for almost any species of purple-brown Ctenochaetus, and Blue Eye Kole tang is a very common trade name for C. binotatus. The care and behavior of that fish are almost identical to that of the Yellow Eye Kole; C. strigosus. The only minor differences Ive seen with them is that they are slightly less hardy than strigosus, and are a little less aggressive. Once they settle into a tank they are great algae eaters and are usually very active fish.
