I brought home this fairy wrasse yesterday, does anyone know what type she is? Our LFS said Fairy (Fighting) Wrasse but I couldn't find anything when I looked that up.

She hid in the rocks all day yesterday and came out this afternoon but her fins are battered. Does anyone know how this could have happened? One of my fish?

We have a maroon clown but he has never bothered any fish besides maybe chase them an inch away from whatever he is hosting. We have a coral beauty angel but she has never shown to be violent and we have a purple firefish, and he just sits in the front of the tank all day and minds his business.

It's a 29g tank with tons of places to hide. Our LFS told us that the new fish would probably swim throughout the rocks all day similar to our sixline wrasse we have in our other tank but the new wrasse has just sat in front of the glass swimming in place for an hour now. Does she just need time to adjust or is something wrong?

Is there anything I can do to help her? I have some stress coat, should I just use that?

Its getting beatup by someone and they do need time to adjust to the tank.

Good luck!

if your sixline is in the same tank, than likely the six is beating up your mccosker. Six can be aggressive toward other wrasse.

Thanks! I am pretty sure I found which one she is in that thread, the McCosker Flasher Wrasse. Here is the photo I saw:

It looks gorgeous with its bottom fin out and when it is healthy. I looked it up online and it says that it is $69. Is that a reasonable price for one? We only paid $20 for ours, so I hope she recovers well, that will be a bargain if I have IDed her correctly.
