I want to add a neon dottyback(Pseudochromis aldabraensis) and a blackcap/royal basslet to my 100g tank. I've heard that dottyback's and basslets don't tend to get a long, but do you think these guys would be ok in a 100g? Thanks.

I wouldn't put those two together. I don't have it with me, but I believe Scott Michaels' book says that the Pseudochromis aldabraensis will make quick work of the basslet. You may want to try to add an orchid dottyback. I have one, along with a royal gramma, and they get along great. They even seem like they "play" with each other.

I have an orchid, a springery and one hybrid dottyback along with my black cap in my 75g tank. They fight at first initially, but after a few weeks, they pretty much leave each other alone. The orchid and the hybrid do sometime swim together.

I think you'll be OK in a 100g. But nothing is 100%, so you have to make the final call. FWIW, I had a black cap basslet, arabian pseudo, and flavivertex pseudo in a 55g reef, but it was filled to the brim with rock.

I have a Blue Bar Pseudochromis and a Blue Assesor in a 24.

No Problems

Thanks for the responses. I think i'm gonna go ahead and get a neon dottyback and royal gramma, and hope they get along. I have tons of rock so hopefully they'll stay away from each other.

I have a Flametail Blenny and a Royal Gramma in my 46 bowfront and they have never crossed paths once. They get along just fine. I would really love to add another blenny

If you have to chose between them, the dottyback takes the cake in my book, it is an awesome fish. TinMan

I had a neon in my 150 gallon. It killed a springeri dotty, lawnmower blenny and chased anthias around. Im sure it would go after pritty much anything reasonable. All fish are different and it is the most striking dottyback Ive seen!! Traded him for a yellow watchman, sand sifting goby and a candycane !!
