View Full Version : Grape alge Problems

I got some live rock that had a little Grape alge on it like the kind you keep in a fuge, well any way it has taken over everything coverd all the rock grown through the sand over the coral and up the glass!!!
The tank is a 29 gallon is there anything i can get that will take care of it??????? like a fish or crab???

Try and cut it all out. Look for the bases where it attaches and try your best to get it all. I don't think there's much else you can do, sorry!

Supposedly a hairy colored pincushion urchin will eat it...I got one and it ignored it. Another solution is supposed to be a sea hare, but I have no experience here.

On my tank, I had an infestation that I couldn't get rid of, until my tangs got out of quarantine, and they got rid of it in short order. 29 gal is too small for tangs though :-(

My coral beauty eats the stuff and would probably be ok in a 29g.

My Long spinned urchin eats this stuff in minutes. Buy one and see what happens.

A yellow tang. will eat it as well. I had one that would devour a bag ful in a week.
