MH wattage question

A friend gave me a mh setup with 2 x 250w de hqi 20k bulbs....it is a little too bright and too blue for my tank.....can i replace the bulbs with 10k/14k 175w de hqi's??? i am assuming the wattage can be lower and the ballast willbe ok...just not higher right ??

nope, has to be exactly the same wattage rating on the pendant/reflector and ballast.
