Actually I have 4 clams in my 35 hex( I think its 35). 2 croceas, 1 maxima and 1 gigas. I run it skimmerless and use a 150 watt HQI pendant with a 20k bulb. It has been up and running for about a year and a half, clams have been in there for over a year. Everyones happy as a.......clam? lol Ill post up a few pics when I get home. I have herd a ton of people say that 150w is not enough for a clam but I have done it, and it does work. Good luck!

No prob- The Croceas are half way up and 1/4 of the way up. The maxima is right above the sand and the Gigas is in the sand. When I post the pics youll see what I mean but I cant do it till I get home.

Stoney - if youve got good alk and calcium (which I hope you do), that gigas will outgrow that tank in a year or less. They are the largest and fastest growiung, and it doesn't like like there is much room to grow even at this point. Looks very healthy, but I hope you have a bigger home planned.

Another issue with smaller water volumes is that the claciuym, alk, pH, salinity, can swing really rapidly, which is detrimental to a clam, so you'll need to make sure these stay stable.

Jmaneyapanda- I know bro.....I got that Gigas when he was 3"a little over a year ago. He's over 6" now! I know hes running outa room but Im giving him a few more months before I transfer him into my 55 SPS reef. I dose 2 part daily and the minor swings don't seem to bother them. I think that they are so used to it, it's like a schedule. I am planning on keeping the Gigas for as long as he'll stay alive :). I would love to grow him up to over 20", that would be so cool. It just gives me an excuse to keep upgrading :)
