Just curious if blue lights make algea grow as well as regular daylight lights. From what i have heard it is the red spectrum that grows algae so i would say no it doesnt. something i am just curious about. Also are bulbs rated by color spectrum? By that i mean are 10000k bulbs redder than 14000k and so on.

Thanks
Ryan

The lower the color temperature, the more algae growth there should be, because of both the red spectrum and because lower K bulbs tend to give off more light.

Yes, 10000K bulbs are redder than 14000K (or 14000K are bluer than 10000K...same thing).
