ok...so m ready to order my pump and SCWD for my 72 bow that i am installing a sump on...i plan on going with a eheim 1250 as i think a 1260 is too much flow throught the sump...if i put a SCWD on the return, will that affect my gph? should i still stick with the 1250 with the SCWD??

I think a scwd would be best used on a closed loop. I like to keep my sump gph low. I try to go just about what my skimmer should handle. Then you can used closed loop, or powerheads for the rest of your flow.

I've got a 1262 and that is definitely too much flow through my sump on a 75. 1260 may well be too much, also, but I think with a SCWD, a 1250 would be just a trickle. If you're adding a closed loop in addition and plumbing that to a seaswirl or another scwd, that could be okay. IMHO, a scwd is really best as a sump return because it really sucks return power and with a sump that doesn't matter, but seems like a waste with a closed loop.

You figure out how your going to pipe your 1250? The outflow that is... I'm got mine big time rigged just to get it up to 1" tubbing....

I had to use like 3 different adapters/hoses.

Has anyone put an eductor/penductor on a 1250 that's on a closed loop?

i havent a clue how im going to plumb it,mnestroy...what do you mean you had to use 3 different adapters...ive never done this before,am i missing something? i should just be able to run flexible pvc form the pump up to the main tank, no?

Well I am also new to this stuff,

But everyone claims the goal is to use the largest size tubing...the pump comes with 1/2 Barbed... I think most people suggest going to 1"

I havent see 1/2" -> 1" adapters...

I have only seen 1/2 -> 3/4" and 3/4" -> 1"

So I guess I was wondering what size tubing you where going to use... If you go 1/2" all the way its my undersanding that will limit flow...
