The PVC union that screws into my MRC calc reactor broke, this portion is threaded and glued into the reactor. Half of the threaded portion remains in the reactor, I was thinking there should be a way I can adhere the broken portion of the union back into the reactor. Do you guys have any suggestions? I don't think it's possible to remove the portion that stayed in the reactor because it is glued. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Carlos

If it is threaded, it SHOULDN'T be glued (maybe silicone). If it is glued, a heat gun might work...but it might warp your reactor body too.

Thanks for the reply. I'm going to contact MRC to see what they recommend.

Ok, I decided to tackle the job myself. I now have a small leak where the 1/2" male union screws into the reactor. I tried teflon tape and cork gasket, but it's still leaking. Can I use epoxy or some other type of adhesive to glue the union to the acrylic?

I probably wouldn't use anything too permanent. Maybe try silicon on the threads. Sometimes using too much tape will cause leaks as well.
