First of all, my tank is not this blue but my corals are. I'm a horrible shot. Here are a few of my favorites.
I love this one. I got it from Eric - he called it a "Mystic Table". It is iridescent. To the right of it is half of one of only 3 or 4 wild colonies I have. You can see why I broke my rule though. :)
http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l134/dfliger/Elos%20Tank/IMG_3887.jpg
I also got this Pulchra from Eric and grew it out
http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l134/dfliger/Elos%20Tank/IMG_3900.jpg
This Turaki from Eric, has done really well. Colors are amazing
http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l134/dfliger/Elos%20Tank/IMG_3875.jpg
Also from Eric, its sold as a Tizardi even though RM thinks its something else. I also have a colony from Patrick Monaghan and he sold it as a Tizardi. Its a real RB barometer. It goes poop brown overnight with RB's and turns sky blue when they're gone!
http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l134/dfliger/Elos%20Tank/IMG_3877.jpg
Got this from Dave Morel, its my favorite. Super amazing SPS
http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l134/dfliger/Elos%20Tank/IMG_3893.jpg
And I tried to get 2-3 Superman frags for a couple friends and ended up with over 20. They are really hardy, like their namesake I guess!

Awesome!!! I like that fuzzy Pulchra a lot! Any time your up for a trade, LMK.
You got any pics of that Monti frag I sent you? I have a heck of a time getting a good shot of it.....
BTW, went to the Cavs first preseason game Tuesday. Starters only played like 7 minutes, but I got my fix:D

Thanks guys.
SPStoner you know I'm always up for a trade with you! Dude that monti has really turned into something sweet. Its polyps are really nice orange and body is like a creamy yellow. Because its not attached it gets moved all over the tank so I haven't had a chance to really get it to commit to a color. I love it. The color on the tips of the pulchra are lost in the pic. It is deep, dark royal blue. You'll love it. There is a good picture on Eric's website.

Heres a pic of that one in my first picture. Flash washed out the color. :( Just above him to the right (frag) is something I've never seen, its a solid green gomezi that I got from gcarroll. I have 4 gomezis and have seen tons - never green like this though. Above to the left is a nice insignis. I think I got him at ********** (referred to Eric earlier)

Cleaned the 9010 last night. I have great success with this skimmer. I've also used the Elos skimmer and an H&S skimmer on this tank and they all rock! All different designs with the same good results. From last night ...

WOW that thick purple BN in the Right side pic is the same skinny pointed BN earlier. What a drastic change since I've moved it. Used to be solid purple and not pointed, now its intense pink and punctures your finger! The big brown stag is the Tizardi, with RB's - you can see how its affected by them! I really miss that bubble, he is now at chetm's house. A couple RIP's in there. :(

Well I'm taking a step WAY down in lighting. I'm replacing this huge fixture that draws over 1,000W with a 2x150W (IC MH ballasts) and 4x39W (IC ballast, not 660). It'll probably be under 500W total. Right now I'm only running my MH about 4 hours/day, I plan on running the MH about 8 hours a day. I'll also be running 10K MH bulbs from Phoenix. I'm a little nervous but I want to try an Elos light. I suppose I could always overdrive the T5 if I feel I need it.
Here are a couple more pix, here are "Red Robin" frags. Really neat coral, is starting to color back up to red over the weekend.

Thanks everyone I'll get some FTS this week for sure. I'm really happy with my tank at the moment. A buddy sidewinder770 loaned me his Canon 100mm macro so I'm gonna test it out. I tried to take a couple shots, man you really need a tripod.

Hello Fliger,
just looking at the pictures of your 9010 and i have to say that having looked at a few threads here on RC this is the only 9010 that i have seen that can pull skimmate like that.
I have just set up a 40 gallon cube and i have a 9010 which sits in the rear of the tank behind a false weir.
The only thing in the tank at the moment is the live rock which has been in for eight days, and so i am only getting a very light white skimmate which is barely rising to the top of the reactor.
I am guessing that i will not get anything like your skimmate until the tank is fully stocked.
Anyway i was just wondering if you could answer me a few qustions,
How many gallons does your set-up hold (including the sump)?
How many fish do you have, and how much do you feed?
Does your 9010 constantly pull this much skimmate?
How far out is the air/venturi screw?
I am hoping that my 9010 will be as efficient as yours, also i am sorry if the questions seem a little strange but i think they are relevent.
Any help or advice would be appreciated,
regards,
peter.
P.S. not many people use Tunze skimmers over here in the U.K.
Fliger
11/16/2006, 02:32 PM
Hey there no prob. They're not used very often here either. I wonder if the pump pulls 650LPH in Europe, I know the hz difference makes pumps draw more air in the states. Anyway - I started a thread over in the Tunze forum also, I'll try to find the link. From the start I had an "issue" where the water was escaping from the bottom. So it never made it up the riser tube. Roger/Brian thought my bottom plate was on incorrectly. Anyway, the end result ended up being a lower water line - and I've been able to run with the blue screw completely removed. Because the skimmer is entirely inaccessible cuz of its placement - I never fixed it since you see the results.
My tank is 48x32x20 an my sump probably holds ~15G. Technically thats about 150G the way reefers measure but its really about 115G in reality. I don't have a lot of fish but I do feed my LPS 3-4x week so there is a fair amt to break down. I have noticed the skimmer slowing over the last few weeks and I think its just caught up with my tank. I have zero hair/fuzzy algae so I know its doing its job.
Ironically I had asked Roger early on if I could cut my riser tube to get the water lower as I thought 650LPH of air is overpowering for the small body but I got the same result. :) In a couple weeks I'm getting a ATI BM150 to play with so when I take out the 9010 I'll take a look at it and see exactly how the water is escaping and let you know! I do know a couple reefers locally who it works superbly for as well.
There aren't a lot of users over here either. I think its a great skimmer for the price if you have limited room. If space isn't a concern there are better skimmers but they also cost quite a bit more.
HTH!
