I run carbon and a phosphate sponge in my reactor, as do a lot of people. Works well enough. I use a Micro-Jet to push water throught it.

If you're going to run phosban, you need to make sure you do it really slow. Micro-Jets work well here.

Exactly which Micro Jet is best suited for this reactor?

I use the larger one, about 100 gph. It seems okay.

Okay great. :D Micro or Mini work just the same? Which media is the most effective?

You can also "T" a line from your return then use a ball valve to reduce the flow to the reactor. Very slow for phosban, more flow for carbon. I however would not run both in the same unit. They tend to get used up at different rates.

I don't know of any data that indicates which product is best. I use the Salifert Phosphate Killer currently. I'd recommend using one of the iron-based products.

Either the Mini or the Micro should be fine if the flow is in the general area of 100 gph or so.
