Can you run smaller wattage bulbs on bigger ballasts. Can I run a 65 watt 24" bulb on a 96 watt ballast.

Hey Vegaskid11,

You can but it is not recommended because the ballast will overdrive the lamp. This shortens the life span of the lamp considerably. It would probably be more cost effective to run the 96W lamp the ballast is designed for, or just get a new 65W ballast.
