do i need more support under the glass of my tank? going to have 26 gallons of water, 1.5 inches of sand and 30 pounds of rock in there

I'd say not at all. That's what most commercial stands look like, and are quite strong. It's not so much that the material is super-strong, it's that the stresses on it are all in one dirrection. As long as you're not planning on bodyslamming the side of your tank, it will hold up to at least five times the weight you describe.

One word of advice... if you are considering painting the back glass of your tank, do it before you put it up in that corner.
