I purchased a small (4-6inches) snowflake eel about a week ago, I haven't seen it since releasing it into my system. I'm assuming it's deep in my rockwork and I'm not going to pull everything out to find it. I wonder though if I'm not directly feeding it if it's getting any food, guy at LFS said it was bullet proof but I'm a bit concerned about it eating??? Advice is welcomed.

Check behind the tank? It's sad but true - they often find their ways out of tanks. I hope it's not your case though.
How long has it been since you saw him?
He could be under some rockwork though. My SFE would burrow under a concave rock, and sometimes I wouldn't see him for a week (that generally happened after a very large feeding or after a stressful event, like moving). Usually though, he always had his head sticking out from his hole, watching/smelling for whatever might come his way.
Hopefully he's just fine and will come out to eat soon.

They like to jump as they are great escape artists!!!Almost as good as an Octopus- What are you feeding your eel? They are normally quick to come out when food is introduced to your tank.

I have checked behind the tank, both inside and out, in the sump and everywhere in between to no avail. The only place I'm unable to check is in the overflow because I foolishly painted the back of my tank covering that spot. I was told to feed it prawn and when I introduce it into the tank he still doesn't show. It's been 4 days since I've seen it.

They are pretty good escape artists and hiders. I'm shocked that he doesn't come out for food though, mine is a GLUTTON. Any time the lid opened he comes out searching all over for whatever I may have dropped in for him. That's even if he was fed less than an hour ago.
