Can someone please ID this? it's from a friend of mine, i go with some kind of anemone but some other folks go with it being a ricordea.

I vote anemone.
large mouth and longer tentacles compared to average rics. Whatever it is, it looks stressed.

That's a tough call, I really cant tell with it closed up like that. I do know my ricordia look somewhat simular when feeding.

She was on the underside of some live rock (shadow side)and when the rock was placed upside down, she curled up rather quickly and then the photo was taken.

it seems to have tentacles just on the outer rim, i continue thinking it's an anemone, but... i'll ask him to take one when she's open

I have one of those in an underhang in the dark in my tank thats been around for a few years. It adds interest to that otherwise uninhabitable real estate. It is an anemone

what type of live rock? i.e. fiji, haitian, caribean, aquacultured? looks like a tiny rock anenome, but they are indigenous to the caribean, keys type area.
