Would I be able to keep GSP's in my 40 gallon with my Orbit dual 96 PC's? Anyone got pics of theirs under similar conditions?

Thanks!

 That's great! The tank has been established for years now and I'm just starting to get into some 'beginner' corals. I suppose I'm pretty good at the patience thing, huh. :D

Should I place them in a shaded area or under direct light - or does it even matter?

They'll grow almost anywhere with light! :)

What do you recommend - low, medium, or bright light? Or does any work?

low, medium, or high light, low, medium, or high flow...

the higher of both the faster the growth, i am a poet and i didnt even know it...

mine is in high flow, direct light of my 250 watt metal halide about 15 inches down... and its tripled in polyps over the past month and a half... this $ .50 batch of GSP will turn into $20 worth of store credit in a matter of months..

you could, easily, keep any soft coral and probably any LPS with that lighting.

LPS seriously? With PC's?

i have 2x65 in my 25 and have zoanthids, frogspawn, mycedium, a chalice, etc. and they are all doing great. The frogspawn and zoanthids have shown noticable growth. Everything is really healthy looking.

Bubble coral, almost certainly. It likes low light. So does maze brain, though it's a bit crankier. Remember you have stringent parameters to meet: no ammonia, nitrate, nitrite; alk 8.3-9.3, salinity 1.025, temp 80, cal 420, mg 1250. That will stabilize your water params and help general tank health anyway; and yes, you should be able to keep some stonies. And keep that green star on a separate rock or rubble pile and away from structural rock! You'll thank me later for that advice. ;)

Cool. So I could keep a frogspawn too I guess? That was going to be my second pic. Any tips for keeping those?

I have a 24g Aquapod with total of 64w PC lighting. I bought a small frag of GSP on a small rock about 3-4 weeks ago. I literally has almost doubled. So I peeled the purple mat off of the frag and set it on a larger rock and it attached in a week or so. The small frag rock still had some purple mat on it and now it has 5-6 star polyps popping out. I don't think you can kill it.

I also have frogspawn, bubble coral, trumpet coral, mushrooms, Xenia, kenya tree, toadstool leather, and several zoanthids. Everything is growing and getting bigger. You have plenty of lighting.

Yes I think I could pee in my tank and green star polyps would still grow. It it not possible to kill!!!

I put mine too close to the glass...now I have a vertical slope on two sides of my tank. They do add quite a splash of color though.

I cooked my rocks with GSP and mushrooms on it for about a year (waiting for new tank setup). I recently took them out and both are still alive. i was hoping they would all be dead
well since i can grow them in complete darkness for 365+ days, i think your lighting should be enough. :)

 Wow! I guess I should have no problems keeping them.

I tried GSP for years, with no luck. For some of us, aquatic murder is always possible.

I have GSP's and they grow out of control. I can't frag them fast enough.

Anyone got some pics of their GSP's??? I'd love to see them!
