It came late yesterday afternoon. Unless you want to see pictures of things like:

my foot
my beer glass
a ruler
the wall

You'll have to wait a few days :)

I'll try to snap a few tonight if I have time. I hope to get out this weekend and put it through it's paces.

Nah - it's a cask-conditioned English style ale. It's not supposed to look like an Alka-Seltzer.

What lens did you get with the camera?I recently upgraded from a 20d to a 30d and picked up the EFS 60mm macro lens and have been having a ball with it.

I didn't get any lens with it. I just bought the body.

I already own the Tokina 12-24 f/4, Canon 24-70 f/2.8L, Canon 70-200 f/4L, Tamron 200-500 f/5.6-6.3 and the Canon 100 f/2.8 Macro

The shot above was using the later.

Never seriously. Electrically the 30D has all the same features. I don't have a need to ever print large enough that I need 12MP and the full frame sensor isn't a big deal to me. Heck Nikon doesn't even offer a FF sensor. Besides, my favorite lens is actually an EF-S mount. I could buy many things that would help me more for that price delta.

I was surprised to see that it has a $600 rebate and wasn't sure if you knew about the rebate when you bought the 30D. I will probably spring for the 16-35 and sell my 17-40, but I need to figure out what I get for the second item to get the 2X rebate. Did you get anything else?

BlueCorn
10/21/2006, 02:18 PM
Yeah but even with the rebate it's still twice the 30D.

Nope - just a body.

The foxface (and the pint) was the 24-70 f/4L, the Copperband was the 100 f/2.8

Congrats on the new cam,Doug!
I'm debating between the 30D and 5D myself and your points for chosing 30D are well taken here. :)

Hey Doug, is that a new lens or it;s a typo? I looked around and couldn't find 24-70 f4 L lens, I sure wish I could because it would no doubt be cheaper than the big brother. :D

BlueCorn
10/24/2006, 07:47 AM
Yeah - it's a typo. It's the f/2.8

Your fox face looks scared! I had one once...I think there was a small earthquake and the fish got spooked, started to swim erratically, caused a landslide in the tank and was pinned against the tank and a large rock. Nonetheless, he didn't make it.

He's a big woos. That's actually his "I'm not quite scared yet" look.

totally OT, but I had a foxface a long time ago and wanted to remove it from the tank and actually caught it by hand

Congrats on the new purchase Doug, looks like you are giving it a good work out already.

My 10D is pushing 60k actuations, and I think I am stuck with it for a bit longer :(
