Anyone have any experience with this? Supposed to be much more scratch resistant without losing clarity.

Sounds a lot like the stuff rock crawlers are using in their rigs for windshields.

I was thinking that if its really that durable and has the same clarity as standard acrylic, then it could make for an excellent tank. Have no idea about cost yet though.

My concern would be the gluability of it.

I pulled this from the RMRC forum...

"...The problem with the coatings is that they are irrepairable, which is why I (personally) won't build tanks using them. They are essentially a micro-thin layer of glass (not *really* but you get the point), when this scratches, chips, etc - it is impossible to blend the two dissimilar materials..."

Yeah, I wouldn't mind it being irrepairable. Neither is glass. I think it bonds like normal acrylic with weldon.

I also looked up some pricing for 4x8 sheets. Looks like almost $400 for 1/2" double coated. Outa my league!

$400, that is cheap and not that much more than regular acrylic.
