My recent addition was a pair of wild caught neon gobies. I have them for about a month and they are very lively and eat well. However one of them has something in the gill on one side. I noticed it about a week after I got it and now it is 3 weeks later. The fish is still very active and eats well. But its breathing is faster than that of its mate. Unfortunately I have not been able to get a good picture of it but I will describe it. It looks like two parallel pieces of white chalk (=). It looks as if I could possibly remove them with a tweaser. But I am afraid I may do more harm than good. Does anyone know what it is and how it can be treated?
