View Full Version : Clown not clowning around

My normally perky false perc isn't perky anymore. Squirt, my smaller clown, has taken to hanging out in different places and moving more slowly than normal. For a couple of days he was doing a side-stroke at the top of the aquarium. He'd swim on one side and then swim on the other. Today he's parked in a typical head-down clown parking position but in a different corner of the aquarium. I haven't seen him eat in days and I think he's looking thinner.

No spots, no injuries, nothing new added to the aquarium in months. Water chemistry readings are normal as is salinity, the temp is a little on the low side but that's the way it always has been. The other fish in the tank (the other false perc, a scissortail dartfish, a yellow tang, a LMB, and a mandarin) all are fat, happy, and acting normally.

Any ideas to what could be bothering Squirt would be appreciated.

Thanks!

How long can brook stay dormant without infecting a fish? Squirt has no lesions, no slime coating, and has been in the tank for 18 months. The last time I added a new fish was in April and that was after the fish stayed in the QT for five weeks. Anything added to my tank stays in QT for 5-6 week weeks first.
