My Viper, obviously, is on a timer, and I got home today and the ballast was making a sort of ticking noise, like it was trying to turn on, but it wasn't turning on. I have already have problems with this light, as in the original lightbulb randomly exploded, and JBJ sent me a new one. I just don't know what is wrong with the thing, anyone else had problems? This is my first fixture that is not self ballasted, so I am a bit clueless here. Thanks for any input! (:

Cut the power completely for at least a half an hour then try to fire it up. If it doesn't come back on then you need a new ballast. How long ago did you buy it? I think they only come with a six month warranty. If at all possible, return it and get a 70w Sunpod. Much better quality and design.

Oh really? I will look into the sunpod. I have only had the Viper since mid July and it's been nothing but a pain in the you know what....
