I think I am cursed today. My fish must be hating me.

First my Pearl Goby fell over and died.

Now 1 hour later I walk past my tank and what do I find in my overflow (which has a high weir infront of it)? My lawnmower blenny gasping for air... I threw him back in the tank but now he is gone :(

Does this happen to other people too or am I just a bad reefer?

Sometimes you go through a bad stretch, your pearl goby starved, and just bad luck with your blenny. Put some eggcrate over the overflow, and go on.

Sorry to hear of your losses. It could have been just a stroke of bad luck, but it wouldn't hurt to run some tests on your water or maybe even check for some stray electrical current. An ounce of prevention....

I agree with conefree. I think you should check your parameters and if everything seems right then you can assume it was just coincidence or bad luck, but not until then. It's better to be safe than sorry in this hobby.

Sorry for your losses though :(

Oh and the Lawnmower blenny was still alive before lights out tonight... What I meant by "gone" is "gone between the LR where I cannot find him to observe how he is doing".

sg should be around 1.025-1.026 but that didnt cause any of this

Well as I understand it most creatures could not care less whether they are at 1.022 or 1.025 - the important thing is that it is constant at that value and not changing drastically. But I could be wrong...

And 1.0238 is close enough to 1.025 that one cannot readily measure more accurately in any case - refractometers are usually accurate to 0.002 I'd say, and electronic meters to 0.001...
