I plan to use my new R/O system to fill a 55 gallon polyproplyne(I thinK) garbage container which is new. I am concerned about some of the chemicals leaching from the comtainer walls into the water if left for a period of a few weeks. It will be set up with a auto shut off float so I always have water available. How do most do this. Someone said line the inside of the container witha large garbage can liner??? Is this the correct way.

Thanks

I just use the 2 of the large grey Brute Rubbernaid garbage cans. I just sprayed the inside down real good the first time before using them. I have never heard of anything leaching from the walls of the can. Some hobbiests use the Rubbermaid containers as sumps and they are made of the same material. If someone knows of some ill effects of using this product long term please post your experience.

Most plastics are safe for potable water. Nothing is going to leach.
