I am setting up a fishless prop tank with a remote DSB. I am wondering if it makes sense to cycle it or even have the DSB since there will be no fish?

just stick some live rock in there and your laughing

Every system will cycle a little bit. I think you would be fine with the live rock, sand, or both.
