Hi, I'm 10 months into my first Reef mix. I have a 95-wave with a mix of marshal island, carribean, and kaelini LR. I purchased a 48" Outer Orbit hood system that has 2 x 150w HQI 10k, 2 110w vho actinics, and 6 moonlights. I started adding SPS frags about 2 months into my startup. I'd guestimate that I've had all the frags in this system for at least 6 months. All frags are at least 8" from the top of the water and my lights are hung 6" from the top of the water. Some frags have grown amazingly and have beautiful color. Other frags have not grown much and stay yellowish to light orange with very little growth. I understand SPS don't behave the same ie growth rates, color, etc.
My question is regarding the use of 150w MH. Originally I did research and found that 150w and 175w MH we essentially the same so I didn't both picking one over the other. I think I'm starting to regret not going to 250w. Does anyone else have no problems using a similar setup?
