When you do a water change is it o.k. to expose live rock and other things during a water change?

Probably. The rock should be fine if its only out for a few minutes, and so should the corals depending on what types they are...what kind do you have? (oh, and thats another benefit of having a sump :) you dont have to drain the tank really)

But stuff like sps corals...some of them are exposed to air in the wild every day due to tides. Its kinda cool if you see pictures of it.

Thanks. I don't have Corals yet, but that's good to know.

Sponges and gorgonians should never be exposed to air. most other things will be fine if it is just for a short period of time.
