acclimating

Okay, if you need to acclimate a new species before he goes into the tank, how do you put them in QT after they have been in the tank for a while? Isnt that sorta the same application, taking from one "home" to another?? Or is it okay because of the water parameters and what not

The QT should be a separate tank set up with identical or close to identical water parameters. After the QT period is over, You can move the fish over the main tank if all parameters are the same. If they are different you can do a drip acclimation in a bucket or container.

so if i find a sick fish, yank em out and throw him in the QT, when he is fixed chuck him back in the main tank
