Interesting...

What would make your aquarium even better? For sure, the addition of extraordinary ripple effects of light through the water like in nature!

These lighting effects are created in nature by the sun passing through the waves on the water's surface creating refraction of light and giving that shimmer effect.

Sfiligoi is proud to present their brand new, patented wavemaker designed to create even and fully adjustable waves in your aquarium. You decide the height of the waves and adjust using the supplied controller.

In addition to creating a stunning lighting effect, the turbulent motion of the water maximizes surface area and allows for excellent gas exchange & oxygenation.

i was looking at that, but i think it would splash the crap out of your lights, imo

They had one on display at MACNA.

Created neat looking waves, but don't get too excited- it's not a wavemaker in the sense that you think. It is purely aesthetic.

The glimmer lines were nice, but the "wavemaker" doesn't produce any viable current. I think the best thing about it would be that it would help push the surface water over your overflow, and the gas exchange bit. . . but for $200??? Ouch

Add to that the fact that the box isn't exactly on the "small" side (think Tunze wavebox placed horizontally over your tank)
for canopies it wouldn't be much of an issue . . . but for open tops?

From the model that was on display at MACNA, we didn't observe any problem with spray onto the glass of the light.

You are correct, it's literally a wavemaker, not a currentmaker. Remember as well that with the tank we had it on at MACNA, we had the Xenus on a lower setting because of the height of the overflows in our display tank which meant we only had a few cm of space from the waterlevel to the top of the tank.

The wavemaker was running for 8 hours a day (approx) under Sfiligoi Infinity XR4 2 x 250 MH lights. The lights were about 9" off the surface of the water.

I'm PM'ing you about the Fauna Marin T5 Lights.

I saw the vid but it doesn't compare to the wave box or at least not in the video

saw it at MACNA...its not supposed to do what a Tunze wavebox does. All it does is move the top 1" of water to make some ripples for the light. I wouldnt get it.

FYI-
We could not use the unit to its full potential at the show since the tank we brought did not have Euro-bracing. If we had turned it up we would have emptied alot of the tank on the floor. We will have a unit in a week or so and will take some better video.

thanks,
AO

So, essentially it's as if I constantly slapped my hand on the top of the water? Eh.

does it produce alot of noise? How big is the unit and what does it weigh. It looks bulky. The wavebox isn't that small either but this unit does look like an eyesoar. Its also alot cheaper than the tunze at $200 if it performs anything near the wavebox its worth the money.
