That happened to my best friend when he gave me back my clown, clown fish denture other fish from getting too close. If you like the carpet then buy a clown.

I feel your pain. I have a haddoni. I remember when mine only ate 3 fish, now I lost count. I have a love/hate relationship with it.

does it eat big fish too? Like the size of a tang.

Cause im thinking about getting one for my percs. Do bubble tips eat fish?

I don't think bubble tips eat fish unless they're really weak and wander into it. They have a really weak sting compared to carpets. Carpets have very sticky tentacles that most fish can't escape, even when healthy.

Yes they will eat tangs also. BTAs do not have such a powerful sting. Also, your percs may never host in a BTA.

Thx for the tip! What anemone to get for false percs?

Do anemones do poor in aquariums with high nitrates? Or does that generally contribute to increased growth. My tank has 400watt halide, but high trates about 100ppm!

Better get info now before I make a mistake.

It's always stated (often) that because water is far more present in their tissues than any other type of animal in your tank, pristene water conditions are critical.

That said, I'd work on getting the nitrates down before adding an anenome.

I've seen one (Aquareeferman's) eat a 6 inch blue throat trigger

I have 4 anemones in with all the fish, in my 125. Two carpets one RBTA and a long tentical anemone.
The two carpets thrive with the fish, RBTA also doing well.
The LTA is slowly getting smaller but still eating good.
I did have a condy anemone for a while that was growing at a steady rate, then it went behind the rock one day and I never saw it again.
The nitrates are usually about 80 and so far so good (11months)

Hahaha, my big green one once ate 11 feeder goldfish in a row I was trying to get to my grouper.
Another time I threw 6 (7") large live pilchers from the bait shop in there and the thing killed everyone and didn't bother to eat them.

He sure seems to love nitrates, that tank runs 180+ usually.
It also doesn't mind low light. All in all, he is very cool unless you accidentally touch it with a net or your hand. :)

Matty why did you have to remind me of that. It was more like 4" but close enough. She only got the tip of her nose on it and within seconds she was engulphed. Thats why its a love/hate relationship.
