View Full Version : Attention Knop C Calcium Reactor Owners...

I recently purchased a used Knop Calcium Reactor C. The seller included an Eheim 1046 pump (1/2" input, 3/8" output). He never set this up, but had bought it from someone else without a pump and hunted down what he thought was the correct pump. Having gotten this home, I think in fact that I need an Eheim 1048 pump (1/2" input and output).

Can any Knop C users out there tell me if you are using a 1046 or 1048 Eheim pump? If the 1046, how do you connect it to the 1/2" inlet the Knop C has? Also, can anyone give some basic instructions on how to set this up? I'm familiar with CO2 tanks and regulators--I would just like to know what kind of tubing to use for inlet and outlet and what the best pump people have found for moving the effluent?

Any tips and tricks appreciated for this reactor, which I have heard good things about.

Mine has the 1046.

I bought it used and I'm not sure how to explain how it is connected. But if you still need help, PM me with your email address and I'll send you a pic.

Can you remove the 1/2" nozzle from the input of the 1046 and place it in the output? If this works, you can connect a 1/2" hose from the pump to the reactor.

You do not need a nozzle on the input of the 1046. If you remove the input nozzle, you can place the supplied cover over the opening and the water will enter the pump through the grate.
