I woke up and looked at my tank and this is what I found
http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h211/nate4546/Tank10-26-06050.jpg
Every thing looked great full polyp extention so the First thing I did was stuck my hand in the tank and I was like hmmm does not feel that hot so I threw a thermomitor in the tank it read 75 I guess I got lucky this time
So if anyone has suggestions on a GOOD titanium heater please let me know

It must be reading wrong but is giving you the right temp but is not worth taking a risk. If you don't keep your house cold you should be fine without it untill you get one. I can look at it and see if I can check it for you if you want. I also will see if I have used one sitting around too.

There is no such thing as a good heater. You should be using a temperature controller like a RANCO. They are industrial/commercial and don't have any where near the failure rate of hobby heater themostats. Cost... maybe $85 shipped. It is one of the most important pieces of equipment on your system.

NP nate. You will be much safer with a controller! Your best bet is to use several SMALL Heaters plugged into it. That way if one fails, the others will continue to heat the tank.
In other words of you need 300 watts of heat... use (3) 100 watt heaters plugged into the RANCO.

whew nate that WAS lucky. I've had a tank crash once from a heater breaking ( long time ago, when i was young and stupid). Now i watch them like a hawk!

McMaster and Grainger both have them as well as https://www.drsfostersmith.com/Product/Prod_Display.cfm?pcatid=13967&N=2004+113769
and several other aqaruium related sites sell them now as well. These are industrail/commercial controllers, not hobby junk.
