can a common foxface (lo i think its called) be kept in a 55g for life?

they max out at 9 inches and usually stay slightly smaller i have read. i originally wanted a yellow tang but people say they are way too active. they are also not very hardy and prone to ich. fox face are so hardy that some people put them in brand new tanks!

my question is can it live in a 55g for life?:bum:

I think the general answer you are going to hear is no. I'm not real sure you would want one in a tank of that size due to the amount of waste they produce as well. That is what I heard when I asked if a Foxface was okay in my 65.

NO. The reasons are given in the post above, max length ca. 10 inches, and these guys grow to almost that size in basically any size tank.

I have one in my 75 and he is about 6-8" which is just about too big for this tank. I plan on putting him in my 180 shortly.
