I recently bought an ASM G3 skimmer online. My question is on all other skimmers that i've seen there is a valve on the air tube and mine does not. Is there a piece missing or does this skimmer not use that adjustment.

Mine did not come with a valve.
IMO, you would not want to restrict the air.
What you may have seen was some sort of silencer.

nope no valve ,but you should ditch the riser tube and buy a gate valve, one of the best things i did on my G3.makes adjusting it so easy.

No valve comes with the G3, the gate valve mod is very easy and comes in handy.

I'm interested too. I just bought a used G2 and I agree that it's difficult to fool with the riser tube.

Try here www.asmskimmer.com under modifications.

They have(or at least they did) have the gate valve kits. You can get the 1 1/4 gate valve here WWW.usplastics.com
