I built my stand when I set my tank up almost a year ago, I had pc lighting at the time so did not make a canopy, was a nice fixture on the tank, well now I upgraded to 250 watt x 2 mh pendants hanging from the ceiling. It was like a second sun in the living room. I did not want a completely enclosed canopy so made one with no top and kept my lights hanging.

I just finished the canopy, this stand and the canopy are pretty much the only things i have ever made out of wood lol, its not great but I am happy with them for being a beginner.

Like the way it opens...I might have to do something like that when I do mine.

Doox, is there a way you could guide me with how you built everything? It really looks good and I'm no wood worker myself but love the job you did. Get me started here come on!

Thanks,
Chris

well I kinda winged it, drew it out how I wanted it to look, took measurements of the tank and went from there lol. I just used quality pine boards, 4? and 6" wide. figured out the total length I would need of each size and bought the wood. Used a miter saw to cut them down, used a router to round the edges of those inside peices.. glued/screwed it all together :)
