I set up a ten gallon mantis tank and all I need now is the mantis. I contacted all the lfs in my area, and they all thought I was crazy for wanting a mantis. Where can I get a small mantis online?

I know I can get one from tampa bay saltwater, but they want $50 shipped. Is there anywhere a little cheaper?

$50 shipped isnt a bad price i dont think, thats only $15-20 for the mantis and the rest is shipping, your looking to pay about 30-40 for a mantis online unless you catch one on ebay, which they are pretty good on ebay

Even on ebay they run around $50. jenlovesty your in FL your telling me you can't get a mantis? Thats like being in Philly and not finding a cheese steak.

that ad says that the mantis is out of stock and you can add it to your wish list. Maybe they will be getting them in stock soon.

as for mknwaves, I've already payed for my peacock. They told me they have 10, one large male that is about 6" long and extremely colorful. They also have a few medium sized ones and a few "thumb sized" ones. Luckily, they are only about an hour from me and I have a friend who's gonna be in that area, coming my way Monday morning so he's confirmed that he's gonna pick it up for me then. No shipping fees for me so I'm getting a peacock for 30 bucks!

Can't wait to see him

I checked out the saltwaterfish.com ad as well and I don't think that the picture is of a peaock. Looks more like a Neogonodactylus curacaoensis.

Liveaquaria has two in their diversden:

They are a little pricey but if anyone is really having trouble finding a mantis here is an option. The one labeled as a smithii looks like a female Gonodactylaceus ternatensis but I don't know what the other one could be.

Here are the pictures so people can see them after they are sold.
