No personal experience but i've have seen other tanks with it. The water flow is amazing as long as you have another powerhead or two to circulate the water and remove wastes. It my be a bit unsightly in smaller tanks IMO.

I would go with a center unit. Should give great flow in a 140.

The biggest drawback for me was my jawfish spitting sand into the W2k. It ruined it.
My feeling is that if no sand had gotten into the W2k, it would have lasted a long time. I felt the center unit was just right for my 75.
Eventually, the unit will have to be dissassembled for service. Don't make the mistake of mounting it under a center brace, like I did.

Consider mounting it to one side or the other. It can be serviced in place only if the top of the W2k can be removed, which is pretty hard to do if it is installed under the center brace.
