Just got a new Open brain. What kind of flow does it like? Low? Med?

They require moderate water currents and moderate reef lighting for proper health. It is important that adequate calcium and alkalinity levels are maintained to ensure proper skeletal growth.

Thanks. Is it OK for the flesh to be slightly moving in the current?

I have mine on the bottom of my 170g but thats because theyre under 250W MH's and the output from the 2 x 6100 streams does appear to make the flesh move slightly - I dont have any problems with them though.

I don't see the feeder tenticles come out when the lights go out. Well they do come out slightly(maybe 1/16''). The mouths do open when lights are out though.
Is this OK? The tenticles on my candy canes come out almost imediately after light are out.

The feeding tentacles should appear when the lights are out but it may take a while for the brain to settle into your aquarium - did you acclimatise it atall ? What lighting was the brain under in the LFS, I see you have 39W T5's ?

I'm currently acclimating to light by putting it in a shady spot at the bottum and eggcrate over the tank just in case. The LFS uses old VHOs that are not very bright. I acclimated to temp. only and put it in the current spot. It puffs up beautifully when the lights are on, though. Maybe if it doesn't extend tenticles in the next few days I will put in a spot with less flow.

Going from VHO's to T8's is a bit of a change tbh but just see how it goes - keep us posted.
