According to LiveAquaria I can keep these in "small groups" Has anyone here kept these in groups? Would they be ok with my current fish? and if so, how many should I keep together?

I have a 55 Gallon tank (90 Lbs Live Rock) stocked with: a Tomato Clown, a Bi-Color Pseudochromis, a single (and possibly Evil) Chromis, a Lawnmower Blenny, and a Citron Goby

I also have various Snails and small Hermits...

I have 2 purple firefish in my 90g and have no problem with them. If adding more than 1 introduce them all at the same time. If the chromis is mean, I would probably get rid of it.

It's not visibly "Mean" or anything but there used to be 2 more Chromis and both just "magically" showed up dead over the course of a week or so... I might take him out eventually...

I tried to have a group of 5, but they have broken themselves into one set of 2, and one set of 3.

Other than that, no problems with them.

i woudl stray from any firefish, simply because the fish you already have, are a bit aggressive tempered; the clown, the dottyback, just plain mean, ...

Firefish are really cool, but they do tend to be carpet surfers. They should be added first, and allowed to settle in before adding peacefull tankmates.

Good luck:)

I had 3 for a couple years, the last I heard they are still alive and well in the same trio

I have 4 in my 30 gallon. They get along great but they are shy little fish. I would be careful with putting them with other fish that might pick on them.

oh btw, they are vigorous jumpers and so you need to make sure they are safe from carpet surfing...
