I made some changes to my tank and thought I would share!!!

First I major major change is the removal of the sump it was cracked and leaking so i just took it out

I used the over flows and the return pump as a closed loop now!!
and the skimmer is hang on the back as you can see

Now for the changes to the front i cleaned all the macro alge that has taken over off the rocks.

And for this guy i got his a coulpe of weeks ago and i think its just from my old MH bulbs they are shot they are at least 2 years old :eek1: :eek1: :eek1:
He was green and yellow and red now!!!! LOOK

So to fix the problem I orderd these two little goodies!!!

Im going to be removing the the canopy and replacing it with this pendant that will hang about 6 inches higher. Also i will be replacing the 2.5 year old se bulb with a new 15k DE 250 watt xm bulb

I drilled it my self with a bit i got off of ebay

See your in morgantown too do you have a tank set up?? I have not been able to find people with much reef intrest in this town lol Im from Charleston and its a really big hobby down there.

So you are dual majoring to, im in computer and electrical engineering but i have a friend thats in Aero and Mech he is a senior this year i don't know if you would know him his name is caleb.

tank looks as though it maturing nicely, have you thought about adding some more live rock? that will give you some more place for corals plus the extra filtration would really be that bad...


looks a lot better than the macro though. nice job.

I love the skimmer it has a little microbubble problem when its HOB at feed time but other than that its great.

I plan on adding more rock soon very soon i was going to get and order of reeferrocks but i got a HDTV and Xbox 360 insted lol So next week i think im going to order some rock i want about 30-40 more lbs

bad news i just checked ebay and the pendant i got i out of stock so im ordering a new one and getting a refund on the ebay one. I found it cheeper on marine depot any way.

Does your skimmer seem to be really loud when its turned on, you do have the super skimmer correct?

Well it does make some noise but not a whole lot. Its make ar sort of whistling noise i think its the nedle wheel impeller.

mine was extremely loud so i added water to the tank, i found out that the pump was far enough under water, its better now

A brain coral its just a little bleached right now. I hope it will get its color back when i get the new light!
