My actinic tube lighting used to induce some of my corals to fluoresce. Unfortunately, the tube ballast in my ARAD fixture has failed and I am relying solely on the fixture’s metal halide lamps. I miss being able to see my corals fluoresce in the evenings.
I am planning to buy a new fixture that combines metal halide lamps with LED’s, such as the Sunpod. Can anyone tell me if the blue LED’s in these fixtures produce enough actinic spectra to induce coral fluorescence to the same degree as the actinic tubes?
