I am thinking of putting a few bio-balls in my sump and overflow box. I am not worried about max flow right now because I can not afford a big enouph pump right now, nor do I have the money for live rock. I would use just a few ball in between baffles and in the overflow box until I can afford more rock and then I will slowly remove the ball. Still if will be at least 6 month before I will be buying anything new for the tank.

What are your thoughts?

I would just wait until you could use live rock. Bio ball usage is becoming outdated. You do not need them.

I would rather use them just throw them away. they were given to me.

Practice your golf swing with them. IME more trouble then they are worth. If you can't afford LR maybe you can get some dead rock and smash it up to fit in there. just add it slow as you go.

GOod Luck.

Where would I find "dead rock"?

Unless you want to battle nitrates day and night, use them to practice your golf swing....
