Pic file size too large

Could anybody tell me how to downsize file size. I have lots of pics on my computer but file sized are to large to post. thanks also I think file type is incompatable. any suggestions?

MS has an image resizer in the powertools collection:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx (install and then you can right click any image/images and select resize)

Use the advanced options to reduce the physical image size to something a bit more manageable. (320X240 is typically pretty decent) The other issue is resolution. Some images are not large physically but humongous on size due to extreme resolution settings when taken. There are a number of "freeware" programs that will allow you to reduce the resolution. Also if they are in BMP format, open and re-save them as jpg/jpeg format and this will often reduce the size a lot as well.

Not sure what freeware to hook you up with as I do not have any time using them, sure someone here can give you some ideas

try www.photobucket.com its free and works fine for posting pics on RC. you can copy and paste using form of file. works great
