folks with knop reactors: how u feeding it?

im helping a friend setup his reactor and wondering how you're feeding your knop. keep in mind, this is a running setup so i do not want to tinker with much of the plumbing. if it were up to me, i wouldve setup the return line to feed the reactor via quick disconnects or something of the sort. the reactor on this particular setup was fed with one of those aqua lifter(something like that?) pumps that would draw water from the sump and output into the reactor. it doesnt seem like a good way of feeding the reactor cuz air would get trapped into the feed, which would make the flow inconsistent.
