Ideas as to what's going on? He's not dead, but really inactive right now. Earlier today he was flipping onto his back quite a bit. I assume he's dying... All tank params are in acceptable ranges.

Thanks

check ammonia (NH3 AND NH4) nitrites (NO2)... nitrates (NO3) they can handle alot better than NH3/NH4 and NO2. was there is he could have injested to cause a problem? also check the (ALK) dKH level.

Could he be having a bad molt? Do you have any other inverts?

I would think the same, usually when trying to molt they will go immobile till they have molted.

Yes, have 7 other inverts (shrimp and hermit crabs). I like inverts more than fish, I think. Nitrates, nitrites, ph, etc etc all checked ok.
Anyway, the emerald crab died this morning, no real idea why still, all the other inverts and my blue damsel are ok so far. We hadn't had him that long (about 3 months), and he had grown with each molting until his shell was about the size of a quarter. The tank has been running about a year.

Ah well, back to the fish store this weekend for a new friend...
