Many people buy the misc. "red reef crabs" for their reef tanks. They usually do not last for more than a month completely submerged. The next time I thought it would be cool to set up a mini desktop fountain . The set-up is very simple. Set-up includes; a bowl, a small rio pump, water fall nozel, small hydor heater under bowl, and a few pebbles and pieces of live rock. I have searched the net and think that this red crab is (Uca crassipes). I have succesfully been keeping 5 individuals (all females) for 6 months now and thought it would be cool to share. The crabs spend most of their time on the rocks out of the water. They are fed macroalgae, shrimp pellets, and dried nori.

yea in the wild fiddler crabs and soldier crabs tend to exist in large congregations on beaches and such. Very cool sounding set up, any pics?
