Alrighty, here is what I want to do: I got a 29 gallon bio cube.

Dimensions: 20" long x 20.75" wide x 19.25" high

the lights right now:

1- 36 watt true actinic 03 blue straight pin
1- 36 watt 10,000K daylight straight pin
3- .75 watt Lunar Blue-Moon-Glow LED

I want to upgrade to halides. Would this be feasible: http://www.aquatraders.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=276 its 20" long and comes legs and here is what I was thinking. This is kind've cheap and I've read some mixed reviews on Odyssea. Some love it some hate it but it is a pretty good option when it comes to price. So I was wondering should I go ahead with this Odyssea configuration. Let me know what you think and also the bulbs that come on the Odyssea are they ideal for my tank? Or should I replace the bulbs with a different intensity (I honestly do not know what an HQI bulb means). There's also this option but I think it is to big http://www.aquatraders.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=277

i would go with the first one.. seems like a great price and hqi bulb means the bulb is double ended.

does a double ended bulb mean anything special?

Nanotuners seems like they might come out with a similar setup for the biocube that they have on the front page currently for the 24 nano cubes.

But the price of that 20inch is pretty attractive.

The larger size, with the larger pc might give a bit better since the width of the bulbs will probably match the width of the tank. except you'll have overhang of the enclosure itself.

keep us posted.

Am I reading this right according to the description the light comes with a 175 watt MH and 2 24W actinic, and is the wattage going to be okay for my tank

Those are very cheaply made and I would worry about electrical problems, plus their customer service is horrible. So it is kind of a crap shoot on what you get.

thank you for the warning, one thing I'm concerned about is the hood nanotuners is coming out with. Is this going to be a canopy or an addition to the hood? If its an addition to the hood is it safe being that close to the surface of the water.
