Is there a particular trick to keeping pipe organ coral? Is it a difficult species?

Everything I've read says they are not a good choice.

I have them, they are extremely hardy and so pretty. Of all my corals, they tend to get the most comments.

Incidentally, when i got them, during acclimation I dropped the piece and it broke in three. It's been about a year, and each piece is much larger than it was before and that's with me tinkering and moving them about. They are great in my opinion.

Mine is doing great. It was at my LFS for a couple of months before I pick it up. Ive had it for about 3 months now. I have it placed at the bottom of my tank. I havent had any problems with it.

They are quite hardy and are one of my favorites. Light to moderate flow, and they seem OK in a variety of lighting. They don't like to be moved, and can close for a day or so if and when moved. They are also very delicate and need to be handled very carefully.

That's great that they are hardier than I read. Cool looking too.

Treat them as you would SPS corals. High light, high flow, excellent water quality and they should thrive.
