I've had this guy for @5 months. When I first picked it up, it was purple with white tentacles.

I've since added MH's to my system, and this is what it looks like now:

When I bought it, I was told it was a carpet...I've since been told that it is NOT a carpet.
Help! Thanks.

The pics are tiny. You wouldn't mind upsizing them for the sake of my (and most likely several other peoples') vision, would you? :D

I noticed that after I posted...
I'll work on getting bigger pics on board. Thanks.

First off Let me commend you on an excelent job of bringing it back from what looks like the brink of death in the first pic.
For an id, I definately see bumps on the underside of it, so it is not a haddoni carpet nor a BTA. If you lift the edge and get a clear shot of the foot and how it is ancored it will make a definate id much easier.
What did you do feeding and lighting wise to see such a turnaround with it?

Let's try this:

...those are a bit bigger.
Thanks Flighty...the store I got it from was keeping it under NO lights. This guy perked up under halides and a good feeding regimen (meaty mixture).

It is either H. malu or H. crispa. If I had to guess, without better pics I would say H. crispa.
