can one plug on the power strip handle 2 Ballast's wired together? I am told that each ballast draws 2.5 amps and it is a bit higher at start up, and that it should be rated to at least 15 amps?

Hi qsails,
as you can see also in the Aquatronica specs (http://www.aquatronica.com/eng/products/acq013-usa.htm ) the max is 16A.
I think you will have no problem using the 2 ballast on one plug, but it will depend at the start how much amps they require.
What is the power of the lamps are you using?

I thik you can have no problem at all, if i'm not wrong the 2,5A is the output, not input, the input should be.... 250W/115V= less then 2,2A the higher input should be no more then 4A each.... so you should have a peek ok 8A for few seconds.
I used in a single plug for a week 2x400W with no problem, but not with electonic ballast.

I use two 250 watt IC ballasts on one plug no problems.
