Just wondering what you all thought of starting off with a tank this large... My hope is that with enough learning and research beforehand I can have just as much, if not more, success with that tank then starting smaller and getting a bigger tank later.
Thoughts?

I started with a 67g 2 months ago and now I'm about to finish a 225g, both reef tanks. It can be done, I hope. So far, so good. The 67g is doing great and the 225g is on schedule and should be sweet.

I started with a 29, then moved to 135 and now have 240. I find that the 240 is easier to maintain than the others.

I think if you stick with this hobbie it will be cheaper to start with that size but the initial cost is high!

I will be starting with a 180 gallon. As a matter of fact, it is now in place at my new house.
I will fill it up with water this next week, but only to house my freshwater fish upon arrival until I get that 55 gal. tank set back up from the move.
I am really looking forward to getting it going as it has been sitting in the crate it came on since last January.
I do still have some equipment to buy, but I can at least get it going with the live rock and such when I am ready to start going.
